Tighter edits would have made for stronger entries. The photographer who shot the first place photo essay had good access and made interesting frames. We also appreciate the conceptual feel of the second place story and felt it would have been stronger without some of the traditional event photographs. Third place had a lot of strong images, though some were repetitive.
