Spot news was not as strong as the rest of the categories. Many image showed a lot police tape and accidents with very little composition. The winners found a different and more interesting view of the news. First place was a well composed image of a police officer taking a picture of a car after an accident, but the photographer shot up a hill making the background very clean and less obtrusive. Second place was a well seen moment of a man standing on the roof of his car trying to get a look at an accident down the road. Well done. Third was a firefighter trying to put out a fire.
