First Place: The colors, moments and variety of images in the “International Tattoo” photo story made this submission rise to the top. It's clear that the photographer made their way around the arena to get different angles. Second Place: “Funeral” is a very powerful image that tells the story. We appreciate how there are no distractions in the background, like people on their phones or doing something else to take the eye away from the main subjects. Third Place: The photo story for “Remembering Shah” has a nice variety of shots that include the ceremony, the crowd and details. Alternate: The photographer captured a good protest moment in “SCOTUS,” and the inflatable costume in the background helped make the photo more interesting.
