There are some wonderful images in the stories. Ultimately, the judges decided that Baseball has a lot of great moments and rose to the top. The detail of the dirt on the jersey and the little boy with the binoculars backwards are lovely. Although we did agree that image #10 was not necessary, unless it was a crucial play that was not explained in the caption.
Second place again had numerous great images. The photographer was not afraid to get into the crowd and not rely on a long lens. There is a great variety of images. Although #8 is a very nice image, we would have removed it from the package; it is a bit redundant and somehow doesn't feel as though it fits.
