First place won us over with the moment. The image captured both joy and dejection in a powerful way. We wish the subject’s foot hadn’t been cut off, but the strength of the moment outweighed that issue. Second place featured perfect framing and a strong moment. Third place did an excellent job with a crowd scene. Too often, those images become throwaway pictures, but you took the time to build a strong frame and make the image engaging.
