First Place: “Peekaboo” stood out as an interesting image. It's a cool photo with the leading lines and a very clear focus on the two little heads popping up among the praying individuals. We wish the photographer got the names of the children, though. Second Place: The stark image of “Sandhill” caught our eyes. We see a lot of sandhill cranes in The Villages, but seeing one in the snow is not a scene we get to see. It's a very sharp image, and it tricks the viewer in thinking the bird is floating. Third Place: The colors and reflections in “Gleaming Neon” made for a neat photo. The silhouette is a great addition for that needed human element. Alternate: The photographer caught a cute moment in “Winter Storm.” We like the expressions on the faces, showing the fun despite the cold.
