Judges Comments

This category was hurt by weak editing in the entries with multiple images. The first place image stood out for the sensitively captured, intimate moment and strong caption. We wished the bottom of the composition were a little looser to include his feet. Second place had a lovely opener and strong egret and airboat photos. It's a visually interesting and timely subject but the edit was too bloated. We loved the last image in the third place story, if it had been entered as a single it could have won. It also would have be helped by a more informative caption. Tell us about his war experience or give us a quote.
