The genuine emotion captured in the first place image of the Teacher of the Year captured our attention. Though the straight down perspective of drone photography has become a cliche, its use in the second place image serves the story well. The detail included in the caption provides good context. The third place image has some good light and is a nice thought that could have been developed further for more visual impact - something shared with many images in the category.
