Judges Comments

First place has a lot of good storytelling elements and a strong use of light. We think all the elements of a good image are demonstrated. The caption could've probably been a little more detailed. Second place does a good job of finding emotion in an assignment that can feel routine and repetitive. Third place again uses light to create a dramatic image and makes the flag pop with color. Also, the flag and powerlines draw the eyes to the subject mentioned in the caption.
