We both enjoyed this category, finding some genuinely nice images. The first-place winner resonated strongly, instantly bringing us back memories of our first sled jumps. It had real impact, a visceral feel. The second image, of the young man on the ice, was pleasing. The broken ice framed him well visually. The third-place elephants caught our eye no pun intended (lol) with their expressive eyes, one seeming to say "I got this." The runner-up, the skier with her golden retrievers, was a nice, pleasing shot, perfect for a feature image above the fold or front of weather section.
