Judges Comments

Judges reached a consensus on the top three place-winners pretty easily in this surprisingly lightly-entered (for Feature) category. A little back-and-forth ensued about the final order, but each frame offered the viewer a visually-engaging moment. First place - Judges were drawn to the vibrancy of the moment, nice use of light and the engagement of the subjects. A couple of the background elements were a bit distracting, but the overall capture puts the viewer draws the viewer into the celebration. Second place - A well-seen and composed frame that showed good intent by the photographer. A next-level feature image that suits the category well. Third place - We loved the 'reveal' on this one. It took us all a moment to realize what we were looking and appreciated seeing a novel take on an oft-captured theme.
