Judges Comments

We were impressed with the number of entries in this category. First place was a great idea about small town municipal meetings. We never saw that before. Every photo had a raw feel and there were so many nice moments and nice light, we could almost smell the old buildings and gymnasiums. Well done. Second place had beautiful light and impressive photography but we wanted a tight photo of syrup to close the story. Third place had some great emotion and who doesn't like an animal rescue story, but we felt some redundancy in composition and lens choice. We didn't award HM because we felt like the other entries didn't stand up to the top three.
