First place: We love the symmetrical image under water! Not an easy thing to do and the photographer was right there. Seeing the top of the water's edge was essential to make this photo. Great work!
Second place: This image is inviting! The colors are so striking and it’s clear that she sells special occasion hats from first glance. Great caption writing. Nice catch lights and great job paying attention to potential distractions that could have been a problem in the background.
Third place: Emotions and color! This was a very striking image with incredible color and emotions. The toning overall is spot on. There was a quibble regarding the edge of his hand, but the content made it stand above the rest. Seeing his excitement was clear from the get go.
Honorable Mention: The photographer understands lighting and played with composition to create a graphic image of the artist during a performance. Light on the face and cheeks were essential and elevated the image tremendously. This was a tight race and this image was debated, with some other entries nearly coming out on top. During a weaker month, this could have placed. We loved it, so keep the photos coming!
