The rowing story shows that the photographer really worked the environment, detail, timing, angles and focus for this story. Well done. The lighting choices were strategic as well, loved the light on the girls mouth using the blowhorn, it really focused on the strength of the team all in her commands.
The Florida Man games story caught a lot of good moments that capture the energy and absurdity of the event. We joked that we felt like we smelled like stale beer and sweat after viewing them.
The weed story had a clinically preciseness to the images, again covering all the bases for the operation. Scott thinks perhaps a few of the shots at different angles might have made them more powerful, but it was very clean. Dennis says it was a good information piece purely through the images.
The story on the homeless move didn't really feel like a story to us–it felt like the beginning of one. We felt the photographer didn't show the ability to get in closer and get inside their story, but stayed a safe distance away.
