First- Call us suckers for a good black and white photo. The composition and mood was nicely captured. Second- We debated if this should have been in portrait category but maybe it was a moment that happened while taking a portrait among the memorabilia. Third-This won as soon as we realized the background face was intentional and not just a tree that looked like a person which amazed us. And the subtle use of b/w with color was also nice. This may have been stronger with a tighter crop.
