Judges Comments

First place stood out with a unique situation. The photographer got into the moment and clearly worked a difficult lighting situation with the "found" light of the rescue teams. The photo is nicely framed. Second place has nice framing and nice layers as the firefighter works to cut into the garage. The sparks from the saw provide some movement in an otherwise static image. We didn't feel the other entries in the category rose to third place. Entries could have utilized different crops and that the image is in focus as several appeared to be soft in the areas our eyes naturally were drawn to.
