The top two photographs came from a school lockdown. We chose
the first place winner because of the emotion in the scene and that
the photographer also included the school in the background for
context. Second place was a unique angle and we liked the access
the photographer got. In third place was the rescue of a kitten during
a fire but it lacked an immediacy to the situation. Only 7 entries.
