First Place: We appreciated the beautiful lighting in “Tree.” We like the low angle and the motion in the photo. The leg kicked back helps the photo feel more active. Second Place: The photographer made something interesting out of a tough-lighting situation with “Christmas Parade.” It's an interesting shot and is a unique way to look at a Christmas parade. Third Place: The colorful lights make the photo pop in “Santa Arrives.” It's a nice moment caught in tricky lighting. It's a good example of making the most out of the light instead of fighting the light. Alternate: We thought the symmetry made for a nice photo in “Cheese.”
