First place is a strong series and a stand-out first choice. The use of depth of field, catch light in his eyes, and focus are well done. For a series focused on reminiscing, this is a great photo of him looking wistfully and then the other photos give context. The caption gives context to the photo and adds to the essence of his character. Second place is simple, clean portrait. Well done. Third place, the story elevates the image. Again, simple, clean and nicely done. Multiple images were eliminated because subject wasn't identified by name -- in the portrait category! No excuse for that.
