Judges Comments

Sports Action was a tremendously tough category. Dozens of photos that all of us would love to have shot. The Alice player's touchdown was a standout image, with the ball just over the line for a score and combination of surprise and delight on the face of the player. The broken bat was an outstanding image, well cropped. The play at the plate was one of several from the same play, but this one captured both the players' emotions as well and the setting of the scene.
