Overall, this category had several entries with moments that would have be strongly considered, but had several that just either were not sharp, or the files simply didn't hold up when cropped so close. First place stood out because of the level the photographer choose to cover the match, along with the expression, opposing player/ball and clean background. Second place was a solid football action image, despite the busy background. Third place was a fine daily image from a soccer match with several players making interesting faces.
