Judges Comments

First place definitely stood out. Fire will typically stand out in general which we felt overlooks a lot of quiet moments in spot news events but this photo was awarded first for its excellent toning and composition. Second place was a nice moment we liked that the photographer saw but thought more information would help with this photo by talking with the person kneeling and getting their name and story. Third was beautifully done.
