We ultimately decided on the winner because of the perfect placement of the ball in between the ref's hands. It completely made the moment and distinguished itself from other similar celebration images. Second image did a great job taking advantage of the color of the uniforms to create a bright clean isolated image to offset any background distraction. Third image is a great moment that is composed well. It feels immersive and the joy is infectious.
