This category was especially weak. Overarching, we felt we were missing narrative cohesion and in some cases — even images being repeated in a submission. Stories and visual narratives are supposed to lead the viewer from one moment to the next and we felt most of these entries were more of a collection of related images than actual photo stories.
First place was the closest in the set of submissions to a story. We enjoyed the visual variety in the submission. Second place was aesthetically pleasing but we wish there was some variation in the set.
