Is it wrong that we think this first place image is kind of funny? What might contribute to it is the cyan/bluish cast to the kid's skin making him seem a little vampirish. We also thought the singlet's "Christian Life" added a nice touch. This second place picture makes you feel like you're in the frame. You can feel the moment for sure. Well-composed and great moment. Photographer gets another year to photograph the best basketball player in the women's game. Third place is powerful on its own, but then you read the caption and find out it's the kid's dad he's embracing. Something wonderful when a big ol' galoot of a kid hugs his dad like he's a Teddy bear.
