First award in Photo Essay went to a series of photos captured by a photographer clearly working the assignment from a variety of angles. The collection of photos offered the viewer insight into the effects of a severe weather situation and how it impacts the region on a different levels. Like several images very much, including the last, telling moment.
Second award was unique assignment that would have benefited from addition images outside of the flight itself. Still, a nicely-captured series in tight quarters.
Third place was another well done series of photos from a heavy flooding situation. We found ourselves hoping for a bit more variety, but the images offered a good record of a challenging situation.
