This category demonstrated a variety of newsy moments that all were photographed well. The three chosen images show why great caption writing is equally as important as a decisive moment. First Place demonstrated one essential tool every photographer should strive for: all access and gain trust for unique moments to occur. Second Place was a good general news series that rose to the top because of the information provided in the captions. Third place has classy, clean general news images well composed, and every factor in the pictures add to the overall story.
