There was a wide variety, but the top three places rode to the top because they had an extra factor that drew the viewer’s attention. First place, we were intrigued by the process of how the image was created and the great use of color. Second place took the portrait up a notch by adding creative and informational news value. Third place, the image highlights were a little overexposed, and we felt it was a little over edited, but the mood of the image created by the use of lighting got it a third-place finish.
