1st. Preached for a long time that just about any good sports photo has a players eyes, the ball and some sort of emotion or interaction all while being nice and tight. This photo did all that, we actually it was a bit looser to include more of the football. Well done though and nice night on the face to top it off.
2nd. Something different, that's for sure. Strong composition and the image stood out among a string of football images.
3rd. We decided that since a dunk contest does involve a winner and a loser that it was sports action over sports feature. It was nice to see a wide shot make the cut over all the big glass for once.
