This was one of the stronger categories and we enjoyed seeing the beautiful fall colors of New England! (used to live there) First place drone picture stood out for it's nice lines and shadows and it looks like the photographer/pilot shot from an angle to not fly directly over the people as that's prohibited. Second place was also a drone picture, and we liked the color and simplicity of composition. Third place was a beautiful landscape with nice light, had a mysterious feel to it, very painterly. We liked the body language of the artist in the alternate, and how she fit in to the mural she was painting. We also liked the picture of the man and dog at the blessing of the animals, but felt it belonged in the general news category instead as it was a planned event.
