Judges Comments

First place — It seems like the photographer got there early and got the shot when things were getting set up, so kudos to them. It’s an unexpected moment. We like all the horizontal lines and then the floppiness of the bodies, that works well together. The picture gives a nice sense of doom. It’s quirky and has some humor. Second place — It’s a really nice moment. The emotion on her face is very compelling. We’ve all shot turkey giveaways countless times and it’s not often that you capture such visible gratitude. The photographer also did a a good job with what could have been a messy background. Third -- We like the arrangement and the composition. By getting low, you were able to include the Hebrew letters above which gives you a sense of place. Took what could have been a straight forward/ boring moment and made it interesting. Captured a nice moment on the rabbi's face as he greets the new congregation.
