There were four entries and all could have won an award. Judges were drawn to the coverage of the sale and auction of a family farm. There were a couple of redundant images but we liked the way the photographer stuck around to tell the whole story of the day of the sale and a portrait of the farmers afterward. In second place was a collection of wonderful photographs from different areas around the world cup soccer tournament. We had a hard time finding a cohesive theme that tied them together. Third place was awarded to the coverage of a football game showing elements of the game most of them not action photographs on the field. The fourth entry would have been more suited to an entry in the sports category.
