Judges Comments

1st - Nice layering showing the principal and service responders. Even though it's a drill, the tension with him just peeking out of the room and everyone looming in the hallway tells the story and makes this a winning image. 2nd - A strong quiet moment, finding the right line between spot news and feature. Good exposure/toning and creating a focus on the firefighter. 3rd - Really cool layering and composition with the walls. From a journalist point of view, being able to see her face or either have a strong human connection or a better view of the actual construction could've made this stronger.
