Judges like the first one because the photographer got into the house. Nice light and nice composition. It seems like first and second are from the same scene, so speaks to the idea of “go early and stay late,” so not just covering peak action. Third is a nice human element. We think the same photographer won each category so they’re clearly committed to spot news and being creative with very similar situations.
