1st - A well-executed and visually striking image from a wildfire. 2nd - This photo gave us a sense of neighbors’ concern after a house fire fatality. It shows us some of the impact of a tragedy rather than the spectacle. We would have liked to know more about this man and his potential relationship to person who died in the fife. 3rd - This photographer got to the scene on time and found a position to show us the rescue, which is often difficult in quickly developing events. We have a sense of the rescued man’s exhaustion, but couldn’t help wondering what other moments may have been in the take.
