Judges felt this category was the weakest. There were four entries. We awarded first place for having had the strongest attempt. We suggest that it needed an edit, that we wanted more intimate images that increased the sense of dignity for those being treated, and less physical distance while shooting. We offer second place a thoughtful encouragement to care to wait for moments between people, or the peak of action in simple expressions. We recognize the photographer's attempt to shoot clean images with variety, but we need some feeling and engagement.
