A few entries were disqualified for being miss-categorized here. We felt they should have been submitted in the portrait category. For first place, we were immediately drawn to the player's display of elation after his play. We wish the composition were a little tighter, though. Second place went to the hockey player in prayer because it was a soft moment on hard ice. Third place went to the fireworks in the infield because of the colors, repetition of workers on the field, silhouettes and the photographer's creative fortitude despite darkness and impending rain.
