WOW! There are some F@!*ng awesome pictures in this category! Seriously… some incredible picture that had audible responses
1st - . Time to move the remote camera to a new position at hockey games, cause that overhead one won’t be topped for a long time. That’s number one and this is a tough category. Every spot of the frame was filled with a spiral-like composition that kept us coming back to the biscuit in the basket, or puck in the goal if you’re a flatlander. From the broken stick flying into the air to the goalie’s water bottle being knocked free from the top of the goal, this picture had it all. The one thing that would have made it better… if the goalie was on his back. But who are we to nit-pick this gem of a picture.
2nd – Ouch. Visceral reaction to the brutality of this sport. Photography should make the viewer feel something… and that doesn’t mean it has to make you feel good.
3rd – The moment of uncertainty. The puck, hovering delicately over the goal line as the goalie peers down helplessly. Great moment.
