Judges looked for clean moments in this category. simple backgrounds, good light and sound exposures. 1st, very nice image using available light, rule of thirds and shadows, nothing complicated, a really nice portrait. 2nd, another simple and clean image, a hat maker, maybe a little too much dead space at the top, but to each their own. lean and readable. 3rd a portrait of a man with a muzzleloader with a clean background and well balanced lighting from the right.
