Judges Comments

This was the lightest category of all, so the winners really stood out. The first-place fire picture was different and had some mystery to it. Second place, the photographer hustled to get to the scene of the crash quickly and we liked the wide shot to show the scene of multiple vehicles involved. Also the tighter shot of the injured guy. I bet the photographer had a few more good ones that they could have entered and not brought down the entire entry. Third place was an emotional moment after the tornado, but composition and cropping could have been better. Truck fire was our alternate, photographer again did a nice job of getting to the scene quickly to get the flames.
