We liked the detail and emotions presented in the first place entry of two women visiting an exhibit that includes their sons’ stories, both killed on the same day. The photographer got an good closing image of one of the mothers taking a train home. The judges thought the second place photo package could have been edited down from the 12 images submitted but in there we saw some good work at conveying a teacher’s passion for her students. We thought the photo feature on a racetrack opening back up to the public should have been entered in the sports feature category for a higher placement.
