All three winners in the sports action category were examples of peak action – great timing. We loved the unique angle of fans competing for a fly ball with an outfielder. We appreciated the caption information explaining the results of the play. Another great catch for the photographer – and outfielder – captured second place. The judges awarding third place to a home plate slide because we liked the low angle, the chalk kicked up, and the ball in the frame of the photo showing the result of a play that helped send the game to extra innings.
