Judges Comments

1st. Framing and location were instrumental with this shot. 2nd. We liked the subject lit but wished the composition had been tweaked so the lit hallway in the background disappeared. 3rd. There was strong debate on whether this was a portrait or simply general news, but we gave the photographer the benefit of the doubt. Strong light combined with strong storytelling got this image to the podium.
