The judges awarded first place to an image of a historical house being moved. We liked the unique perspective and how the photographer was able to get low to show the scale of the house. There was some good news value mentioned in the caption too. The second place photograph gave us a sense of cold on a foggy morning fishing. We would have liked to see some separation of the two people in the boat. In third place, the graphic element of the steel sunflowers made this a winner. It was good to see a lot of information in the caption. We were a little bothered by the one flower growing out of the head of one of the children.
