All of the stories submitted in this category could have been stronger with a tighter and more thoughtful edit. First place showed us the emotion of excitement, love and uncertainty on the first day of school, made even more important and newsworthy during this pandemic. Second place had a great backstory and we enjoyed following along with Brad on his walk, but wished we could have seen his journey over a longer period of time. Third place was a newsworthy event with a good variety of beachgoers and could have been improved with a tighter edit and more variety in focal lengths and distances from subjects.
