Lots of discussion between first and second place. Ultimately, second place winner was hurt by not having a tighter edit. 1. Black and white was a nice choice, good variety of wide shots and detail shots, the layered image of people dining inside vs protesting outside (reflection in the window). 2. Telling stories, images are composed really well, good use of backgrounds if those are in focus/if it's not a tight portrait, toning is really nice. It's an individualized approach to the protests and the story is very personal. 3. There's shot variety and it's a good topic. The photographer got up and close into the workouts.
