Judges Comments
A sparse number of entries in this category, but these three clearly stuck out. First-place was awarded to the image of the protest in Mexico City. (It also spurred a debate among the judges about whether the photographer in the center of the frame was breaking the law.) The multi-image entry of the tornado coverage would have been selected for first if it had more “Human Element.” “It needed more faces.” A drone shot of post-tornado damage was awarded third-place. (There were a lot of really effective drone shots entered this month, in this and three other categories. This was the best of the bunch.)
