Judges Comments
There was a good debate between the judges in selecting the winning images. Crowded field. 1st place: We went for the moment. The connection between the mother, daughter, and granddaughter is heartbreaking. Moments like this are becoming the sad normal as families deal with the coronavirus outbreak. The sets of hands touching elevated it higher than the rest. 2nd place: The composition, strong lines and subject placement all worked together in this entry. Technically very well done. There were a ton of images related to the coronavirus and this was among the strongest that showed emptiness in a visually interesting way. 3rd place: Good seeing by the photographer. It stood out because it was a unique take on the coronavirus outbreak.
