While the category’s submissions were very low, this category was probably the toughest to decide and judge. Both the submissions on the Masons and the Good Vibe Tribe had their strengths, and while the Good Vibe Tribe was very technically well shot and started off strong, we felt that the submission could have used a tighter edit that would have strengthened the story. The first six images or so were very strong, but then the images started feeling repetitive and bringing down the strength of the story overall. The story on the masons, however, while it doesn’t have a strong human element, the images work best together as a group submission. Each image was thoughtfully composed and helped illustrate the very complicated story topic.
