If it were up to us we would not have placed any images in this category. Of the five entries, two weren't even spot news. One entry was disqualified strictly based on the quality of the image. The two that remained were meh. We aren't attempting to be rude here, I promise. The first place image was a non-moment spot news image. The second-place images were mostly out of focus or cropped entirely too tight which lessened the quality. Look for moments, body language, etc. when at spot news events.
